What is Auriculotherapy?

Auriculotherapy is a reflexology technique for treating acute illness and pain. The ear serves as a mapped microsystem of the entire body. The nerves in the ear connect with the reflex centers in the brain. By activating points on the ear with microbeads of pressure, neurological pathways send messages to the spinal cord and brain to treat the part of the body being targeted. Treatments are non-invasive and no needle-free. Conditions that respond exceptionally well to auriculotherapy include insomnia, nausea, motion-sickness, stress, and headaches.

What is BioMat Therapy?

Our BioMat Therapy uses a FDA-approved medical device combining Far Infrared Rays (FIR), Negative Ions and Amethyst Crystals to produce deep penetrating light energy and heat for a maximum healing experience. The BioMat’s unique medical and therapeutic properties are based on Nobel prize-winning research and NASA technology. By activating your body’s healing potential at the molecular level, the BioMat is capable of delivering deep relaxation and healing while you comfortably rest.

What is Cupping?

Traditional Chinese fire cupping is a relaxing treatment to remove stagnation and improve the flow of qi and blood. Glass cups are heated with fire and applied to the skin to create suction. Fire cupping is pain-free and typically leaves painless circular marks that gradually disappear within 3-5 days as healing occurs. Elite athletes use cupping to enhance athletic performance and muscle recovery.

What is Gua Sha?

Gua sha has been practiced for over 2,000 years, with its origins deeply rooted in ancient Chinese medicine.

The modality involves scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool to promote blood circulation and encourage the flow of Qi (pronounced “chee”), which is considered the vital energy of life. The term “gua sha” translates to “scraping sha,” where “sha” refers to the stagnant energy or blood that is believed to be causing pain or discomfort.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is believed that when Qi and blood flow smoothly throughout the body, a person experiences good health. However, if there are blockages or stagnation in the flow of Qi or blood, it can lead to various health issues, including pain, inflammation, and tension. Gua sha is used as a therapeutic method to address these blockages and stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. Red or purple scraping marks will be visible immediately and last up to a few weeks. Gua sha is most frequently used for treating neck pain and stiffness, back pain, and muscle tension.

What is Moxibustion?

Moxibustion (commonly called Moxa) is a traditional Chinese technique of applying therapeutic herbal heat to the body. A common method of moxibustion is slowly burning a stick of dried Artemisia (mugwort) leaf over specific acupuncture points or meridians. Moxibustion is known to restore the body’s yang qi, expel cold from the meridians, and dispel dampness. The warming sensation is very comforting and often provides non-invasive immediate pain relief.

What is Ozone Therapy?

Ozone Therapy is a quick, painless, non-invasive treatment that is clinically-proven to increase endogenous production of antioxidants, local perfusion, and oxygen delivery, as well as enhance immune response.

Ozone Therapy is commonly deployed in biologic dentistry where it is used during dental procedures to inhibit viral, bacterial, and fungal infections.

What is PEMF Therapy?

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy is clinically-proven to provide pain management and can help reduce dependency on painkillers and pharmaceuticals. Our clinic features a FDA-approved (certificate pending) medical device for PEMF Therapy. It is typically used for non-healing fractures, tendon tears, chronic ulcers, post-surgical pain, and acute or chronic pain. At Indigo Healing Acupuncture, we offer PEMF Therapy sessions where you can relax and heal in total comfort. Many of our patients with osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, tendonitis, and joint pain have found pain relief that allows them to resume the daily activities they love.

What is Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM)?

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) is a non-invasive technique for treating pain that uses low-level electrical current aligned with specific healing frequencies. The current is delivered to certain parts of the body to encourage natural pain relief. Frequencies have a direct effect on our bodies and can almost instantaneously impact cellular function. It’s like writing a computer program for our bodies to heal. There are hundreds of frequencies that we can select to reduce inflammation and pain without any side-effects or downtime.
